Purpose and Need for new Sanctuary Piano at EDCC

Friends of EDCC,

As many of you know, music is an important part of the worship experience here at EDCC.  The diversity of our music program brings a vitality to worship that is enriching for both the regular attendees and visitors alike.  To keep our music at a high level and moving forward we have identified a need to replace our existing sanctuary piano.  For anyone that has ever been involved in a music program, they quickly realize that the piano is often the backbone of the music program.

Our current Baldwin grand is at a stage where it can no longer meet the needs of our program and it is time for it to be replaced. For several months we have had the opportunity to “try out” a new piano that we have decided will more adequately meet our needs, a concert grand Grotrian Steinweig.  Collora Piano of Dallas is the company that has provided us with this piano.  We’ve worked with Collora Piano over the years when we needed to rent a piano for our special events.

We have a tremendous opportunity to purchase this incredible piano at an extremely rare price of $90,000 which is significantly less that its retail price of $190,000.  The acquisition of this piano will save us from having to rent pianos for our special events that cost us $1,200 each time and keep our music program growing.

This piano is a gorgeous instrument that is aesthetically matching of our historic sanctuary. Above all, this piano is an instrument that matches the quality of our music in worship at EDCC: our Sanctuary space, Chancel Choir, and EDCC Pianist.

We’ve decided the best way to acquire this piano is to embark on a Buy-A-Key fundraising campaign that divides the price of the piano by 88, the number of keys on a piano.  If you would like to donate a key(s) you can click on the “Donate Now” option below.
